Guild Giving Foundation to Host Charity Golf and Social To Benefit Homeless, Battered, Disadvantaged Women and Children

Second annual golf tournament, silent auction and dinner will support three San Diego causes

SAN DIEGO – The Guild Giving Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by Guild Mortgage to formalize and strengthen its community outreach efforts, will host its second annual Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner Social on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

The fundraiser includes a golf tournament, auction and dinner social, with proceeds benefiting three local charities: Monarch SchoolUrban Corps of San Diego County and Home Start.

The inaugural Charity Golf and Social in 2017 raised more than $174,000 and featured prize packages that included a four-night stay at a private residence in Lake Tahoe, two tickets and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Padres game, and a firefighter experience package that included a ride on an engine and dinner at the station.

“We are looking forward to increasing the amount raised this year to support the important work being done by the Monarch School, Urban Corps of San Diego County and Home Start,” said Mary Ann McGarry, president and CEO of Guild Mortgage. “At Guild, we are committed to giving back and working to inspire change in the communities we serve. These three organizations have a positive impact on people’s lives every day in San Diego and we are pleased to contribute to their continuing success.”

The Monarch School has served San Diego for nearly three decades, evolving from a one-room education center to a comprehensive K-12 school dedicated to educating homeless youth. Urban Corps of San Diego County has established a unique work-learning program that allows youth to finish high school while earning a paycheck, learning real-world job skills and giving back to the community. Home Start provides services to women and children living in poverty who require immediate, comprehensive housing and supportive services to ensure their safety and healthy development.

Sponsors for this year’s event include: Lockton and Informative Research (Platinum); TIAA Bank, McCarthy Capital and CoreLogic (Gold); and Texas Capital Bank, Arch Mortgage Insurance Company, Marsh & McLennan Agency, J.P Morgan and Riivos (Silver). Many others have provided additional support and will be participating in the event.
