Guild Mortgage Earns STAR™ Performer Recognition From Fannie Mae for Third Year in a Row

Leading independent mortgage lender honored for its competency,
capacity and overall performance in servicing for 2019 STAR Program year

SAN DIEGO – Guild Mortgage, one of the largest and most experienced independent mortgage lenders in the U.S., has earned a Servicer Total Achievement and Rewards™ (STAR™) Performer recognition from Fannie Mae for 2019.

Guild Mortgage received recognition for General Servicing for the 2019 STAR Program year, earning the distinction for the third consecutive year.

Initiated in 2011, the STAR Program is a performance management and recognition program designed to define industry standards and leading practices. It seeks to understand and communicate best practices across the servicing community, provide a consistent methodology for measuring servicer performance, and identify and recognize Fannie Mae’s highest-performing servicers.

“Our servicing division is essential to our focus on creating customers for life,” said Mary Ann McGarry, CEO of Guild Mortgage. “Americans have faced extraordinary challenges this year, including a global pandemic and record unemployment, with many borrowers needing a forbearance as a result. No matter the challenges, we’re working to make a difference in people’s lives and help keep customers in their homes. Fannie Mae shares this mission and we’re pleased to be considered among their top servicers.”

Guild’s servicing portfolio grew 8.2% to a record $49.43 billion in 2019, up from $45.70 billion at the end of 2018. Total units climbed to 237,260 in 2019, up 7.2% from 221,244 at the same time in 2018. The average loan size in Guild’s servicing portfolio reached $208,329 in 2019, up 0.9% from $206,540.

“It’s always rewarding to be recognized by a strategic partner like Fannie Mae,” said Jim Madsen, executive vice president, loan administration at Guild. “We are fortunate for the outstanding support they provide our team every day. Together, we can provide more loan options for first-time homebuyers, get more people into homes and help provide long-term security.”

Guild has a long history of partnering with government organizations like Fannie Mae to offer low down payment assistance programs and other specialized loan options for first-time homebuyers. Guild has been a pioneer in offering VA and FHA loans for decades and was one of the first lenders to offer loans under Fannie Mae’s MH Advantage initiative, a mortgage program for manufactured homes with features and amenities comparable to traditional, site-built single-family homes.

A leading national lender by purchase loan volume, Guild has developed innovative pilot programs and specialized products to help deliver the promise of home in every neighborhood and community it serves for 60 years. Its loan professionals can serve the needs of any homebuyer, from helping first-time buyers achieve homeownership, often through government loan programs, to homebuyers looking to upgrade with a jumbo loan. Guild also specializes in helping active duty and retired military personnel to secure VA loans, with 100% financing and flexible qualifying standards. The company is consistently recognized for its impact in the communities it serves, commitment to customer service, strength in regulatory compliance and workplace culture.
